Now Playing: Third Edition

Hey fabulous followers! This is the most random assortment of songs, from different years, singers, styles and genres. But, I adore them all the same. Enjoy!

1. “Black Tears” by Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean decided to be super generous and release his new album “Night Train” the day before my birthday! Yes, in case you were wondering, my birthday is tomorrow, so happy early birthday to me :) Still have to really fully listen to the whole album, but this song IMMEDIATELY jumped out at me. It’s been on repeat since about 10:00 AM today. If he doesn’t release this as a single, I’ll be utterly shocked. It’s about a stripper, and it’s dynamite. YouTube

2. “Dance With Me” by Debelah Morgan

As part of my birthday, I’m sharing with you one of my all time favorite songs. This latin/soul/r&b/dance/tango infusion song is set to the same music as “Hernando’s Hideaway”, but with a modern twist and different lyrics. Told you I like all different types of music! Music Video

3. “50 Ways to Say Goodbye” by Train

Okay, I’m just going to come out and say this, I can’t believe that a Train song made this list. One day I found myself channel surfing the XM radio stations and stopped at this song, without seeing who the artist was. It got excited because an element of the music is reminiscent of Phantom of the Opera. I like musicals, it’s whatever. WARNING: this song is stupidly catchy! Music Video

4. “The Only Way I Know” by Jason Aldean featuring Luke Bryan and Eric Church

Three of my FAVORITE country male singers COLLABO STYLE?! Clearly, it’s destined to make this list. YouTube

5. “Bounce” by Calvin Harris featuring Kelis

This techno/dance song was all over the pre-game mix this past weekend. Drink every time they say bounce. Music Video

6. “Keep On” by Eric Church

I’m obsessed with Eric Church, everyone knows this. And, since it’s my birthday tomorrow, I’m sharing another one of my favorites with you! The cutting, witty lyrics are just a prime example of why Eric is the most nominated artist for the CMA Awards this year. Music Video

7. “The Quest” by Bryn Christopher

Slower, alterna-rock and pensive. It’s a reflective song with a punching, hard-hitting cut to it. Interpret as you will. Music Video

Which one of the above is your favorite? Tweet it at me!

Now Playing: Second Edition

Hello, you fabulous followers! Here’s the Now Playing: Second Edition. Enjoy!

1. “Hold On” by Alabama Shakes

It’s mellow and chill. I love it. Music Video

2. “Tornado” by Little Big Town

This punchy country song, fresh off their newly released album, has a great fiery and dark dimension to it. Shows a different side of the band that sang my favorite fun summer anthem “Pontoon.” YouTube

3. “The Lion, The Beast, The Beat” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

When this album made it’s mid summer debut, I was thrilled (because I love Grace Potter, obviously) but I wasn’t sure what to expect. She wildly exceeded my expectations, especially with this song. Don’t let the beginning of this song fool you, the ending brings you to a completely different place from where it began. The tempo change just before the midway point in the song is INCREDIBLE. I don’t want to ruin it, so, listen to the song, the lyrics and the tempo change. It’s a fantastic journey. “I’m running wild with the lion, the beast, the beat.” YouTube

4. “Beer Money” by Kip Moore

In honor of Country Music Month, I salute you, Kip Moore. This song has a fun, yet not over the top, vibe. Perfect for when you are en route to crack some fresh cold ones. Music Video

5. “Make Me Wanna Die” by The Pretty Reckless

In case you couldn’t tell, I’m obsessed with Gossip Girl. So, in honor of the premier of the final season (wah!) here is one of my favorite dark, rocker, angry bitch songs sung by little J herself. Music Video

6. “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” by Deadmau5 ft. Rob Swire

So, I love techno. This song was on HARDCORE repeat last week, whatever! Such a pump up song and PERFECT for any gym/workout/pregame playlist. YouTube

7. “Lights” by Ellie Goulding

I can’t seem to stop listening to this song for the past few months and I love dancing to it at le bars. So, when you hear this song, grab a drink, and hit the dance floor ;) YouTube

Now Playing: First Edition

Hey #HellOnHeels Fans! Here’s your first edition of the Now Playing segment. I decided on seven songs because I love all numbers ending in 7. I’m ridiculous, but you’ll love it. Enjoy!

1. “Hell On Heels” by Pistol Annies

Was there seriously any doubt what the first song was going to be? It’s my anthem (any sassy girl can relate!) Music Video.

2. “A Little Taste” by Skyler Stonestreet

As heard on the ABC commercial for the Sunday night fall line up. It’s so seductive and a great change of pace. Also, calling it now, potential Fifty Shades of Grey theme song? Mark my words. Your heard it first from the Hell On Heels Girl. Music Video

3. “Country Music Jesus” by Eric Church

Eric is KING. One of my favorite lines from the song, “We need a second comin’ worse than bad. Some long haired hippie prophet, preachin’ from the book of Johnny Cash.” Country. Music. GOLD. (There is no music video, but it’s obviously on You Tube.)

4. “Cruise” by the Florida Georgia Line

Came to me as a suggestion by my darling cousin. Newly obsessed. A MUST listen to while driving. Music Video

5. “Lonely Boy” by The Black Keys

Repeats on repeats on repeats. This is on my “fall country” playlist. It’s not even country. That’s how much I love it. Music Video

6. “Runaway” by Love and Theft

One of my favorite songs, hands down. During CMA Fest Nashville this past June I had the opportunity to watch them perform this song live about a gazillion times and I love it more and more every time. PERFECT for when you need an escape. Music Video

7. “Gangnam Style” by Psy

My best friend sent me this video in early August via iMessage saying “YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS. IT’S BASICALLY THE KOREAN VERSION OF JUMP ON IT.” I can neither confirm nor deny that I have done the dance while frequenting the Boston bar scene. So necessary and acceptable. And now this song is an American sensation (spotted on the DWTS commercial, insanity, I KNOW.) Here’s the ORIGINAL. And here is the AMAZING COVER which I discovered today and one of the reasons this song made the list. Watch the video, learn the dance moves and listen to the song.
